Tom has been a steady influence in the public relations industry for nearly three decades. He has held the top executive post for the agency since 1991 and has counseled leading corporations‚ governments and countries on strategic communications. Tom was elected into The Public Relations Society of America's prestigious College of Fellows in 2006 and was named one of only nine Sages of the Counselors Academy of PRSA in 2007. Prior to being named president‚ he built the St. Louis office of Cushman/Amberg into the second largest firm in the region. His instincts have been honed over years as a counselor and a journalist. Tom’s career with the St. Louis Globe–Democrat placed him in the center of the action. As a political reporter he covered the campaigns of Ronald Reagan‚ Paul Simon‚ Dan Walker‚ George McGovern‚ James R. Thompson‚ among many others.
Tom has lectured and written on the subject of public relations and has earned a reputation as a leading crisis communicator‚ earning numerous industry awards and recognitions. He has served in leadership posts for the Society of American Travel Writers‚ Counselors Academy and the Public Relations Society of America. Tom graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Missouri.
